How does this tournament bracket generator work?
Pick a bracket size, type or paste your team names, choose a seeding method, then generate. The bracket builds instantly in your browser, and you can click a team in any matchup to advance it to the next round.
Can I make a bracket if my team count is not 4, 8, 16, or 32?
Yes. Choose the next bracket size up from your team count and leave the extra slots blank. The generator fills empty slots with byes, and any team drawn against a bye advances automatically.
What is the difference between standard seeding and seed as entered?
Standard seeding places teams so the top seed faces the lowest seed and strong seeds stay apart until later rounds, which is how most tournaments are bracketed. Seed as entered keeps your exact list order, and random draw shuffles everyone for a blind draw.
How do I share or save my bracket?
Use Print to save a clean printable copy or PDF, or Save PNG for an image you can post. Your bracket, including the winners you have clicked, is also saved on this device. To share one link that keeps showing the latest results as you record them, create a live link from a free Syncrize account.
Can I use this as a random bracket generator?
Yes. Set the seeding method to Random draw and the generator shuffles every team into the bracket once, so it works as a bracket randomizer for a blind-draw tournament. The draw stays fixed while you record results and in any link you share. Press Re-draw for a new one.
How do I run a blind draw for a tournament?
Paste your teams, choose Random draw, and generate. The round 1 draw appears under the bracket as a numbered list of matchups with byes marked, and Copy draw puts it on your clipboard to post or read out. Every viewer of the shared link sees the same draw.
Can I keep teams from the same club apart in the first round?
Yes. Add a vertical bar and the club after a team name, like Falcons | Northside. With Random draw on, the generator keeps teams from the same club out of each other's round 1 match, and tells you if the list makes that impossible.
Can I use this as a seeding generator?
Yes. Standard seeding places the 1 seed against the lowest seed and keeps the top seeds apart until the later rounds, and the round 1 matchups are listed with each seed number so you can publish the seeding before play starts.
Is this a knockout tournament generator?
Yes. Knockout and single elimination are the same format under two names: one loss and a team is out. Build the bracket here for any knockout tournament, and use the double-elimination generator instead if you want teams to survive a first loss.
