How is passer rating calculated?

NFL passer rating combines four categories — completion percentage, yards per attempt, touchdown percentage, and interception percentage — each scored on a 0 to 2.375 scale, then averaged and multiplied by 100/6. The maximum is 158.3.

What is a good passer rating?

On the NFL scale, around 90 is league average, 95 to 110 is good, and 110-plus is elite. A perfect passer rating is 158.3.

What is a perfect passer rating?

A perfect NFL passer rating is 158.3. It requires maxing out all four components — a very high completion percentage, big yards per attempt, a high touchdown rate, and no interceptions.

Is NFL passer rating the same as NCAA?

No. College football uses a different formula and scale (which can exceed 158.3). This calculator uses the NFL passer rating formula, capped at 158.3.
